Sheikh Zayed Mosque.

Sheikh zayed Grand Mosque was initiated by the late President of the united Arab  Emirates ( UAE),HH sheikh zayed bin sultan Al  Nahyan ,who wanted to establish a structure which  unites the cultural diversity of Islamic world, the historical and modern  values of architecture and art. It is the largest mosque in the united  Arab Emirates and the eighth largest mosque in the world .The mosque is large enough to accommodate over 40,000  worshippers. It features 82 domes ,over a 1,000 columns, 24 carat gold gilded  chandeliers and the world' s largest hand  knotted carpet. The main prayer hall is dominated by one of the world's largest chandeliers- 10 metres in diameter,15 metres in height and weight twelve tonnes.
